With the brownfield approach, an existing SAP ERP system is converted into an SAP S/4HANA system in several steps. Customizing as well as existing data are preserved in this approach. Prior to the conversion, data cleansing and a comprehensive analysis of the existing system is usually performed. The analysis is performed using a set of standard SAP tools to identify and implement functional changes and necessary prerequisites for the conversion.
