Mechanical and plant engineering Structure of ERP template and introduction
to 5 Companies in AT, UK, AE

Client

Internationally active steel construction company with headquarters in Vienna and around 17 locations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
The business areas are steel and glass technology, bridge construction, stage technology and special mechanical engineering.

Main project goals

  • Replacement of a local ERP system for three companies in three different divisions
  • Definition of template processes for three divisions as a basis for later rollouts
  • Cross-divisional standardization of processes in project management, controlling, purchasing, and invoice verification

The detailed analysis of the actual and target processes resulted in a catalog of requirements, which served as the basis for the software selection as well as for the definition of the blueprint. The template development and the introduction into the main companies of the respective division in AT took place in one step. At the same time, the template was rolled out to the UK and AE. For the best practice approach, the certified industry solution from CNT – proSolution – was used. This was expanded in the area of so-called extrapolation and adapted to the special needs of Waagner-Biro. In purchasing, a supplier portal was realized with a continuous electronic transmission of drawings.
